Prof. Dr. med. vet. Ralf Mueller graduated from Ludwig Maximillian University in Munich (LMU) and spent a number of years in first large then small animal practice before undertaking his residency at the university of California. He obtained his board qualifications in 1993 with both the Australian and North American Dermatology Certifying exams. He spent the next 14 years working first in a private referral dermatology only practice in Melbourne, Australia and then as an Assistant Professor at Colorado State University. In 2004 he returned to LMU to join the faculty of the Centre for Clinical Veterinary Medicine/Ludwig Maximilian University. Ralf Mueller is the only veterinary dermatologist who is certified with the American and the European Colleges of veterinary dermatology as well as the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists. He is lecturing regularly at international meetings and has authored numerous research papers, book chapters and books. His areas of interest include allergic dermatitis, ectoparasites and immune-mediated skin diseases.
